Piazza Navona is for sure a must-see in your trip to Rome. It’s one of the biggest squares and it features four beautiful fountains, including the stunning Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Four Rivers Fountain). This fountain, designed by Bernini in 1651, represents the World and its four great rivers. In fact, you can see the Nile representing Asia, the Danube representing Europe, the Ganges representing Asia, and the Rio de la Plata representing the Americas. Just behind this fountain, you can admire Saint Agnes Church, commissioned by the same pope who commissioned the fountain. Enjoy the lively atmosphere here. You might also find some artists, painters, and puppet theatres.
